THE THURSDAY GAME BETWEEN THE RAYS AND LIZZIES AT BICKFORD PARK WILL START AT 6:30 P.M.
The Toronto Playgrounds Baseball Committee has announced that the Mosquito Division game between the Rays and the Lizzies at the Bickford South diamond scheduled for this Thursday, May 28 will start at 6:30 p.m. rather than the usual 5:45 p.m. start time.
Players and Parents are advised that this is a one-time only time change and that is being done to allow us to accommodate a request by the Parent Council of Montrose Avenue Public School.
As some of you may know, we have begun playing our tee ball games (and holding our rookie ball practices) at the two new diamonds in Eggleton Park, which is just beside the Montrose Public School schoolyard. This change has allowed us to enhance our program by being able to offer both Junior (4 and 5 year olds) and Senior (6 and 7 year olds) Tee Ball three days a week…Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. The Montrose Public School Parent Council had planned a School Community Picnic for this Thursday, May 28 to take part in Eggleton Park before they realized that we were the permit holder every weekday.
Wanting to be good neighbours and to build bridges within our community, the Committee worked out a compromise with the school…they are going to use Eggleton Park until approximately 6:45 pm. We’re going to move our junior tee ball games that start at 5:30 p.m. and delay the start time of the senior tee ball games from 6:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. The Junior Tee Ball games are being moved to Bickford Park…one will be at the North Diamond and one will be at the South Diamond…both will start at 5:30 pm. The game on the Bickford South diamond will be over by 6:30 pm at the latest, and we will start the mosquito game immediately.
