TRAILING 4-2, THE ROCKIES RALLY FOR FOUR RUNS IN THE TOP OF THE FOURTH INNING TO USURP THE BUCCANEERS AT CHRISTIE PITS

Matthew (9) sparked the Rockies offense by going 2 for 2 at the dish with a double and 2 RBI’s. Thomas also also made an excellent catch in center field to turn the Pirates away in the third inning.

Beneath a layer of sunny and hazy skies, the Rockies topped the Pirates 6-4 in four innings of Peewee Division play this evening at Christie Pits Diamond 2.
Here is a Rockies summary of the proceedings:
- The Rockies came away with another close win in week five of the Peewee Division regular season due to top notch pitching and some timely hitting.
- Trailing 4-2,, the Rockies rallied with four runs in the top of the fourth and then held on for a 6-4 victory.
- The big star for the Rockies was Thomas (9) who went two for two at the plate with a double and two runs batted in.
- Thomas also contributed an excellent catch in center field to turn the Pirates away in the third.
- Rockies pitchers Leandro (5), Matthew (10), Rahim (2) and Alden combined to hold the Pirates to only four runs leading the way to the victory.
- Matthew also drew two walks and converted them to two runs through some crafty base running.
- Alexander (14) chipped in a hit and a sacrifice fly to contribute to the Rockies six run attack.
