Beneath a veil of warm and sunny summer skies, the Angels edged the White Sox 11-10 in four rock ’em sock ’em innings of Mosquito Division action this evening at the Bickford Park Diamond.

With the game tied 10-10 in the bottom of the fourth, Jack (10) led off the inning for the Angels with a walk to put the potential go ahead run on base.

At this juncture, Maggie (4) stepped into the batter’s box and crushed a triple down the left field line that allowed Jack to blaze homeward and just slide under the tag attempt of White Sox catcher Cooper (3) to score the Halos winning run in a cloud of dust at home plate.

The rollercoaster proceeding was a fun and entertaining affair between two talented and well coached teams from beginning to end.

In the top of the first, the White Sox took advantage of five walks to take an early 4-0 lead. After Kingsley (1), Justin (11) and Cooper drew consecutive walks to load the bases, Eli (4), Thomas (2) [hit by pitch] and Nicholas (10) garnered respective RBI walks to bring them home to roost.

Ahead 3-0 and with the bases still juiced to the gills, Eli would motor homeward on a White Sox error.

In a good effort, Angels starter Alex (9) had a spirited inning on the mound.

However, the Angels would make hay of six walks in the bottom of the first to tie the game 4-4. Respective RBI walks with the bases loaded by Jack (10), Julien (8), Myles (3) and Justin (14) would allow Sadie (6), Cooper (2), Alex (9) and Jack to come homeward bound.

White Sox starter Cooper (3) would strike out one during the inning.

The White Sox would answer back with four in the top of the second to retake the lead 8-4. After a lead off double by Jayden (8), Justin would be hit by pitch and Cooper would garner a walk with one out to load the bases. Eli would stroke a RBI single to bring Jayden home with the go ahead run. On the play, an Angels error would also allow Justin to shake and shimmy home.

After a walk to Thomas reloaded the bases, Nicholas would deliver a 2 RBI single to plate Cooper and Eli.

Angels reliever Cooper (2) would strike out one during the inning.

The Angels would reply with two in the bottom of the second to trim the deficit to two. With two outs and the bases loaded, Jack and Maggie would draw back to back RBI walks to bring home Matthew (11) and Sadie.

Shaken, but not stirred, White Sox reliever Kingsley (1) would strike out three and leave the bases loaded.

Angels reliever Maggie (4) would strike out two in the top of the third to keep the White Sox off the scoreboard.

In the bottom of the third, the Angels would explode for four runs to take a 10-8 lead. After Myles ans Justin walked to lead off the frame, Aiden (13) singled to load the bases. Matthew followed with a RBI single to plate Myles. Sadie would be hit by pitch allowing Justin to trot home with the tying run.

Cooper and Alex followed with a pair to RBI walks to deliver Matthew and Sadie home with the go ahead runs.

In a good effort, White Sox reliever Eli (4) had a spirited foray on the hill.

With the game on the line, the White Sox refused to surrender as they scored a pair in the top of the fourth to tie the game 10-10. With two outs and the bases loaded, Cooper would draw a RBI walk to bring Thomas home and slice the margin to one.

Eli would follow with a RBI walk that allowed Kingley to saunter homeward with the tying run.
