Under the lights on a warm and humid midsummer’s night, the Expos defeated the Mets 10-4 in three innings of Peewee Division action tonight at Christie Pits Diamond 2.

Here is an Expos summary of the proceedings:

  • Hitters from both the Expos and Mets exhibited patience at the plate….working pitchers to full counts.
  • The Expos offense was led by hits from Dean (14) and Olivia (6), who continues her torrid hitting streak.
  • There were some fine defensive plays turned by the Expos with Alexia (3) making a nifty 4-3 putout to Cameron (15).
  • Ella (8) made a throw from right field to first base to record an out.
  • Dean made a timely throw to Expos catcher Han (2) at home with the bases loaded to record an out. Han held onto the ball to complete the putout (unlike the Team USA catcher at the Pan Am Games, who should learn a few pointers from Master Han!)
  • Cameron threw a runner out at home with a laser throw to Adam (1) behind the plate.
  • Pitching for the Expos were Adam (1), Taras (9) and Harris (12).
  • Expos catchers were Cameron (15), Han (2) and Adam (1).
  • Pitching for the Mets were Quinn, Michael (5) and Evan (13).
  • The officiating TP umpires were outstanding and thankfully reminded Expos Head Coach Bill Evans that there were only two out after he had called the Expos off the field……Oooooops!
