TAKING NO PRISONERS, THE A’s BURY TORONTO PLAYGROUNDS AT RAVINA GARDENS

Beneath a ceiling of picturesque blue and sunny skies, the Annette A’s defeated our Toronto Playgrounds Rookie Ball Selects 12-1 in six innings of Etobicoke Baseball Association (EBA) Select Loop action this evening at Ravina Gardens.
Here are the highlights:

TP led off the game in the top of the first but couldn’t get any runs despite a single by Jordan W. (1) who was left stranded on base.

Annette charged out of the gates in the bottom of the first by scoring three runs on four hits to stake themselves to a 3-0 lead. The A’s offensive attack was highlighted by a home run by Tristen (42).

In the top of the second, TP scratched out two hits by Cassius (5) and Michael (12) but couldn’t plate any runs.

The A’s stretched their lead to 6-0 with three additional runs on four hits in the bottom of the second.

TP finally got on the scoreboard in the top of the third! Lucas (6) got things started with a single. Thomas (23) moved him around with a single and then Christian (7) got an RBI single to get TP a run.

Annette was held to one run on one hit in the bottom of the third as they held a 7-1 lead.

Toronto Playgrounds continued to play three more innings but was unable to score any more runs. TP only managed to garner three more hits by Sammy P (11), Lucas (6) and Emmett (8).

Going for the jugular, Annette managed to tack on five more insurance runs in the final three innings to finish the game winning 12-1.
The TP Rookie Ball Selects (5-4) continue their never ending July road trip on the EBA Select Loop circuit when they venture to Martingrove Gardens on Sunday, July 26 to play against the Martingrove White Sox at 6:00 p.m.
