The Toronto Playgrounds House League Baseball Committee has taken the time to post the 2016 divisional schedules once again for its eight respective house league age classifications in order to give parents and players an opportunity to evaluate what options work best for them as they register for the upcoming season.

Here are the divisional schedules:

JUNIOR TEE BALL (2011 – 2012)

  • For the 2016 season, we are offering a Junior Tee Ball division every weekday.
  • The Junior Tee Ball games will start at 5:30 p.m. All of the pre-season practices and regular season games will take place at the Eggleton Park Tee Ball diamonds, which are located just south of Harbord St. between Grace St. and Montrose Ave. beside the Montrose Public School schoolyard.
  • On the registration form, you will need to choose the Junior Tee Ball option and then rank your first three choice of game days on the form as well. It is very important that you rank your top three choices, because if it turns out that one of the days doesn’t have enough interested players signing up, or if your first choice of day is already full,  we will have to move the players from that day to their next choice. It isn’t looking likely that we’ll need to fold a division but in case we do we want to be prepared to make any changes as convenient as possible for families.
  • Short warm up practices will be incorporated into the beginning of each game…there won’t be scheduled team practices once the season starts. There will be two or three scheduled team practices during the pre-season schedule. We may also run some weekend clinics in June for any particularly keen Tee Ball players to develop their skills even more.
  • The pre-season will run from Saturday, April 30 to Thursday, May 19. The regular season will begin on Tuesday, May 24. The Junior Tee Ball season will wrap up on Saturday, August 20 with the Tee Ball Celebration Day event.

SENIOR TEE BALL (2009-2010)

  • For the 2016 season, we are offering a Senior Tee Ball division every weekday.
  • The Senior Tee Ball games will start at 6:30 p.m. All of the pre-season practices and regular season games will take place at the Eggleton Park Tee Ball diamonds, which are located just south of Harbord St. between Grace St. and Montrose Ave. beside the Montrose Public School schoolyard.
  • On the registration form, you will need to choose the Senior Tee Ball option and then rank your first three choice of game days on the form as well. Practices on Tuesdays will be at 5:30 p.m. or 7:15 p.m. for one hour…again each team will practice at both of those times during the season.  Practices on Friday will be at 5:30 p.m. for one hour. Please note that our Rookie Ball Select team will be playing its games on Tuesdays, so players on the select team will have to register in Senior Rookie Ball.
  • On the registration form, you will need to rank your choice of game days as first and second on the form.
  • There will be two or three scheduled team practices during the pre-season schedule. We will also be running several weekend clinics and batting practices in May and June so the Rookie Ball players can develop their skills even more.

  • The Mosquito division games will take place on Thursdays, and each team will practice every second Tuesday.
  • Game times on Thursday will be 5:45 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. Each team will play some games at both of those times. Practice times on Tuesday will be 5:30 p.m. or 7:30 p.m. Again, each team will have some practices at both of those times. So, for the Mosquito division, Tuesday and Thursday are the days that players will need to be available.
  • There will be two or three scheduled team practices during the pre-season schedule. We will also be running several weekend clinics in May and June so the Mosquito players can develop their skills even more.
  • The pre-season will run from Saturday, April 30 to Thursday, May 19. The regular season will begin on Thursday, May 26. The Mosquito season will wrap up in mid-September at the conclusion of our end-of-season tournament.
  • Mosquito games will take place in Christie Pits, Bickford Park and, if increased registration numbers create the need for more teams, other parks to be determined. These additional diamonds will be as close as possible to Christie Pits, and each team would have to travel to play there only a few times during the season. Practices will be held at Christie Pits, Bickford Park, and also possibly other neighbourhood parks.

PEEWEE (2003/2004)

  • The Peewee division games will take place on Mondays, and each team will practice every second Thursday.
  • Game times on Monday will be 6:00 p.m., 6:30 p.m., and 7:45 p.m. Each team will play some games at each of those times. Practices will be held at Christie Pits, Bickford Park, and also possibly other neighbourhood parks.

BANTAM (2001/2002)

  • The Bantam division games will take place on Mondays (always) and various other days of the week. Some weeks the second game will be on Wednesday, some weeks on Friday, and some weeks on Saturday. A consistent day for the second game is difficult to set because of the increased demand for diamonds with mounds in general and Dominico Field at Christie Pits in particular. Because of this we will also not be able to set a standard practice day/time until closer to the start of the season. Game times on weekdays will be 6:00 p.m. and on Saturdays 12:00 noon. Each team will play some games on all of the days mentioned above.
  • There will be team practices during the pre-season schedule. The pre-season will run from Saturday, April 30 to Thursday, May 19. The regular season will begin on Monday, May 30. The Bantam season will wrap up in mid-September at the conclusion of our end-of-season tournament.
  • Bantam games will take place on Dominico Field (diamond 1) at Christie Pits. We will be attempting to arrange some games against bantam teams from neighbouring house leagues such as Annette in order to provide as many games as possible for interested players.

MIDGET (1998 – 2000)

  • The Midget division games will take place on Mondays (always) and various other days of the week. If registration numbers warrant additional teams, then some weeks the second game will be on Wednesday and some weeks on Friday. A consistent day for the second game is difficult to set because of the increased demand for diamonds with mounds in general and Dominico Field at Christie Pits in particular. Because of this we will also not be able to set a standard practice day/time until closer to the start of the season. Game times on weekdays will be 8:00 p.m. Each team will play some games on all of the days mentioned above.
  • There will be team practices during the pre-season schedule. The pre-season will run from Saturday, April 30 to Thursday, May 19. The regular season will begin on Monday, May 30. The Midget season will wrap up in mid-September at the conclusion of our end-of-season tournament.
  • Midget games will take place on Dominico Field (diamond 1) at Christie Pits.
