Toronto Playgrounds House League Baseball will be hosting its third consecutive Toronto Blue Jays Honda Instructional Clinic today (Saturday, May 7) at Christie Pits (750 Bloor Street West) for players aged 8 to 14.

Qualified Blue Jays instructors will be on hand to teach 130 young players all the necessary and fundamental baseball skills one should know in a fun and structured atmosphere.

The sold out clinic will be four hours in length. During the clinic, players will rotate through drills that will deal with skills such as: hitting, throwing, fielding, pitching and baserunning. We’ll also invite coaches to come out onto the field to observe, participate and ask the Jays instructors questions.

Each registered clinic attendee should bring their glove, bat, and helmet along with a drink and snacks. We recommend that you arrive 15 to 30 minutes before the clinic begins in order to check in at our registration table

The instructional sessions will commence at 9:00 a.m. sharp and run until 1:00 p.m. All registered players will also receive a free Blue Jays hat, tee shirt and baseball manual for participating in the clinic.

The Blue Jays are keenly aware of the need for local associations (like Toronto Playgrounds House League Baseball) to raise funds to offset some of the rising costs they are experiencing. Therefore, TP House League Baseball will receive $25 per participant for hosting the instructional clinic.

Not only are the Instructional Clinics an excellent fundraising opportunity for local baseball associations, these clinics will also compliment the local association’s player development program. It’s a win win event for everyone involved.
