Beneath a pristine ceiling of genteel cool blue skies, our Toronto Playgrounds Major Peewee Selects defeated the Etobicoke Ranger Girls 12-3 in 4 ½ innings of Etobicoke Baseball Association (EBA) Select play this evening at Christie Pits Diamond 2 to win their fourth game of the season and remain undefeated.

After jumping out to an early 2-0 lead in the first inning, TP sent eleven batters to the plate in the bottom of the second and exploded for seven runs to take a commanding lead that they would not relinquish. Keying the second inning attack were respective 2 RBI singles from Raymond (16), Piper (13) and Jake (30). Aaron also chipped in with a RBI single for good measure.

Along with some sparkling defensive play, the TP Major Peewee Selects received stellar pitching performances from starter Ethan (36) and reliever Jordan (14) that limited the Ranger Girls batting order to just two hits and three runs over the duration of the proceedings.

With focus and resolve, Ethan pitched three solid innings where he allowed two runs, one hit, five walks, while striking out five Rangers. Ethan also picked off an Etobicoke base runner at third base in the third inning to help his cause.

Meanwhile, Jordan tossed two strong innings of relief where he allowed only a run (unearned), a hit, a walk, while striking out five Etobicoke batters to seal the deal.
