Beneath a pristine ceiling of cool blue skies, the Wyoming Wranglers defeated our Toronto Playgrounds Mosquito Selects 8-3 in a seven inning semi-final game this morning at the Woodstock Minor Baseball Association Tournament in Beachville, Ontario.

With the semi-final loss, TP is eliminated from further playoff action at the tournament.

After the conclusion of round robin phase yesterday, TP had finished the opening portion of the tournament with a perfect 3-0 record to advance to Sunday’s championship playoff rounds.

Toronto Playgrounds opened the Woodstock tournament with a convincing 9-1 victory over the Woodslee Orioles on Friday evening at Woodstock District Community Complex Diamond 2.

Early on Saturday, the TP Mosquito Selects prevailed for a 9-5 win over the pesky Ingersoll Ironbirds at Woodstock District Community Complex Diamond 1.

Taking no prisoners, TP capped off the round robin portion of the tourney on Saturday with an 18-0 blowout victory over the Woodstock Minors at Woodstock District Community Complex Diamond 2.

The TP Baseball Committee wishes to thank Mosquito Select Coaches Mark Higgins, Andrew Larsen, Aidan Wener and Marco Bianchi for their fortitude and patience in steering these talented Mosquito Selects through to the semi-final portion of the Woodstock tournament.

The Committee also wishes to commend all the Mosquito Select players, coaches and parents for representing the core values of the Toronto Playgrounds Baseball program with honour, dignity and professionalism on and off the diamond at the tournament and throughout the season.

WAY TO GO, TP!
