TAKING NO PRISONERS, THE MAJOR PEEWEES BURY THE MINOR PEEWEES TO WIN THEIR SIXTH EBA SELECT GAME AT CHRISTIE PITS
Beneath a ceiling of genteel summer skies, the TP Major Peewee Selects defeated the TP Minor Peewee Selects 15-3 in four innings of Etobicoke Baseball Association (EBA) Select action this evening at Christie Pits Diamond 2.Despite the lopsided result on the scoreboard, the proceeding was an entertaining affair between two talented and well coached teams. In the end, the Major Peewees unleashed a potent thirteen hit assault to bury their opponent and leave them in the dust. The Major Peewees also used three pitchers who combined to strike out seven and limit the Minor Peewee batting order to just one hit over four frames.
In the top of the first, the Major Peewees staked themselves to an early 4-0 lead that they would not relinquish. After Jake (30) was hit by pitch, Jonathan (19) stroked an one out RBI double to bring Jake home with the opening run of the game.
As Jonathan made a bid to steal third, Minor Peewee catcher Lucas (47) made a precision laser throw to third baseman Rory (12), who adroitly applied the tag on a sliding Jonathan to chalk up the bang bang 2-5 putout.
With two outs, Raymond (16) singled and Nigel (20) doubled to put two ducks on the pond. Piper (13) followed with woolly mammoth three run home run shot that cleared the chain linked fence in left field.
In a workmanlike effort on the hill, TP Minor Peewee Select starter Jamie (52) would strike out one in the first.
