IN A FIVE ALARM BARNBURNER, THE D-BACKS & RANGERS HYBRID PREVAIL OVER THE REGULAR RANGERS AT DOMINICO FIELD
Game Summary edited with file from Tracy Franklin
Under a canopy of warm summer skies for miles around, the Diamondback-Rangers prevailed 14-12 over the Rangers in four fun innings of Bantam Division play this evening at Dominico Field at Christie Pits.
Here is a Rangers account of the proceedings:
- On Monday evening, the Rangers met the Diamondbacks at Diamond 1. With the D-Backs roster depleted of sufficient players to field a full team, the Rangers agreed to loan them a couple of outfielders each inning to complete their team. Thanks for being ‘good sports’ Rangers!
- Stellar Rangers pitching duties was shared by Adam, Cormac (13), Alysa and Josh (12).
- The most exciting play of the game came from Jacob P. of the Rangers. After a batter from the D-Backs -Rangers hybrid team smashed a ball to right field, Jacob fielded the ball well and threw to second base for the putout. Indeed, a fine tag by Adam at second robbed the Diamondback-Rangers of this great hit.
- Once again, the Rangers bats were hot. Cormac, Haydn and Jacob K all smashed the ball for doubles while Molly, Cameron (14), Alysa, Jacob P, Jacob K, Justin and Cormac all hit solid singles.
- The final score was 14-12 after four complete innings. Special thanks to the umpires who agreed to let the home team take their final bat so more fun could be had!
