TORONTO PLAYGROUNDS CAGE THE CARDINALS AT CHRISTIE PITS TO EARN THEIR SEVENTH EBA SELECT VICTORY
Game Summary edited with files from Marco Bianchi and Mark Higgins
Beneath a beautiful canopy of warm summer skies, our Toronto Playgrounds Mosquito Selects defeated the Royal York Cardinals 15-7 in 4 ½ innings of Etobicoke Baseball Association (EBA) Select action this evening at Christie Pits Diamond 2 to win their seventh game of the season and remain undefeated.
Here are the highlights:
- In an extremely well officiated game, TP scored ten of their runs with two outs over the first three innings thanks to clutch hitting with runners in scoring position.
- TP starter Tavaris (55) pitched three innings and only surrendered two runs, at which point, TP was up 10-2 over the Cardinals.
- Going for the jugular, TP rallied for five more runs in the bottom of fourth to put the game out of reach.
- It was a wonderful team effort with attentiveness on the base paths and the usual great fielding.
- The TP Mosquito Selects remain unbeaten in the EBA Select Loop with a stellar 7-0-1 record, while giving up the fewest runs against.
- Next up…the tournament in Vaughan this upcoming weekend (July 8-10).
