Beneath a thick layer of hot and humid skies, our Toronto Playgrounds Major Peewee Selects defeated the Royal York Cardinals 12-10 in three innings of Etobicoke Baseball Association (EBA) Select this evening at Queensway South to earn their eighth victory of the season.

Here are the highlights:

  • The proceeding was a barnburner walkfest. with Royal York drawing eleven walks and TP garnering nine.
  • However, TP outlasted the Cardinals 12-10 in three drawn out innings.
  • Pitching for TP was Alden (7), Jordan (14) and Aaron (54), who closed out the third with the save.
  • Jonathan (19) stroked a bases clearing triple.
  • Jake (30) lashed a double to score two.
  • Aaron, Zenon (9), Jordan and Leandro (10) all recorded hits.
  • Jake and Ethan (36) did a masterful job behind the dish on the hottest day of the year.
  • Kudos to Joseph (11), who has been playing with the team lately and will make his first tournament appearance this Friday at the Mississauga Majors Tournament.

The TP Major Peewee Selects will take a brief break away from the EBA Select Loop this weekend when they participate in the Mississauga Majors Tournament (July 15-17).

TP will resume action on the EBA circuit next Wednesday (July 20) when they travel to Smythe Park to battle the York Gold at 6:15 p.m.
