DOWN 9-3, THE TWINKIES RALLY IN DRAMATIC FASHION WITH TWO OUTS TO UPEND THE RED SOX AT TRINITY-BELLWOODS PARK
Game Summary edited with file from Eric Abboud
Beneath a thick blanket of humid skies, the Twins rallied to edge the Red Sox 10-9 in three thrilling innings of Mosquito Division action this evening at Trinity-Bellwoods Park.
Here is a Red Sox account of the proceedings:
-
It was a very dramatic and exciting game between the Red Sox and Twins at Trinity Bellwoods Park.
-
After scoring four runs in the top of the first to take an early 4-0 lead, the Red Sox sent Sacha (6) to the mound in the bottom half of the inning. After some close pitches, the Red Sox found themselves in a bases loaded nobody out jam. But the next Twins batter hit a pop up to Sasha for the first out and he able to double off the Twins baserunner at first for the second out. Then Sacha threw home to record the third out on the Twins base runner who had tagged up from third. It was a sweet Triple Play!
-
Going into the bottom of the third (and final inning), the Red Sox were up 9-3. Red Sox closer Liam (12) got the first two outs of the inning on a strikeout and pop up to Sasha.
-
Liam had two strikes on the next Twins batter, who eventually drew a walk. Then the Twins batting lineup battled back from more than a couple of two strike counts to rally with seven runs and win the game 10-9. The Twins comeback rally was fueled by a big two out triple and a two out double in bottom of final inning.
