THE BOMBERS PREVAIL OVER TORONTO PLAYGROUNDS IN A NAIL BITER AT NEILSON PARK
Game Summary edited with file from Jason Koskela
Beneath a blanket of warm and hazy midsummer skies, the Bloordale Bombers edged our Toronto Playgrounds Rookie Ball Selects 8-7 in seven innings of Etobicoke Baseball Association (EBA) Select action this evening at Neilson Park.
Here are some highlights:
- TP staked themselves to an early 4-0 lead.
- However, the Bombers clawed back to take the lead.
- Great defense all around by both teams.
- TP had trouble getting the bats going until the top of the seventh. TP rallied for three runs but couldn’t get a base runner in from second to tie.
In a postgame media interview, TP Co-Head Coach Jason Koskela was reflective upon his team’s first EBA Select circuit regular season loss of the season: “Hats off to Bloordale, who played tough and with composure. I’m sure the TP bats will be back for our game against York next Tuesday.”
The TP Rookie Ball Selects [7-1-2] will be back in action at Christie Pits Diamond 3 next Tuesday (August 9) when they play host to York at 6:30 p.m.
