When all was said and done on a gorgeous midsummer night, the final score was a secondary thought on the minds of those who attended an exhibition game between our Toronto Playgrounds Minor Peewee Selects and the Newmarket Hawks this evening at Armstrong Family Park.

Even though TP got their butt kicked 15-5 in 5 ½ innings of play on Armstrong Diamond # 1, it was a nice way to spend a bye-week evening away from the EBA Select circuit. As the photo above clearly shows, it was a beautiful night for a good old ball game. In the words of TP Minor Peewee Select Head Coach Paul Kelly, “The Armstrong diamond was probably the best field that we’ve played on — the grass was so green!”

Javert (19) was TP player of the game with a 3 RBI double and two strong relief innings pitching against the talented Hawks [a gifted Minor-Peewee Rep team].

Charlie (7) got the call to be our tenth man on the roster. Thanks Charlie!

The TP Minor Peewee Select Team would like to thank Newmarket for hosting the exhibition proceeding and giving us an opportunity to play.
