Beneath a cornucopia combination of hot, hazy, overcast and rainy skies, the Toronto Playgrounds Major Peewee Selects defeated the Toronto Playgrounds Minor Peewee Selects 14-2 in 3 ½ innings of Etobicoke Baseball Association (EBA) Peewee Select Championship playoff action this afternoon at Queensway South to win their second playoff game.

The round robin game between the two respective TP teams was called due to the tourney’s mercy rule after 3 ½ innings were completed. The game was also plagued by a thirty minute rain delay and the final outs in the top of the fourth were recorded just before the rain returned again.

The TP Major Peewee Selects opened their 2016 EBA Select playoff journey on Friday night with a dominating victory over the Etobicoke Rangers at Queensway South. With their victory over the TP Minor Peewee Selects early this afternoon, the TP Major Peewees improved their overall playoff record to 2-0.

With a bye on the opening day of the end of season playoff tourney, the TP Minor Peewee Selects [0-1] began their journey at the tourney with a loss to the TP Major Peewee Selects early this afternoon.

Each team participating in this season’s EBA Peewee Select Championship Tournament is working under the double knockout formula, whereby a team is eliminated from the tourney once they have lost two playoff elimination games.

The tournament was delayed by a severe rainstorm this afternoon which lasted for over an hour. As a result, the start times of the remaining Saturday playoff games have been accordingly pushed back.

Additional updates from the 2016 EBA Peewee Select playoffs will be posted when they become available.
