Beneath a gentle ceiling of warm summer skies, the Reds edged the Rangers 13-12 in four innings of Bantam Division action this evening at Dominico Field at Christie Pits.
Here is a Reds summary of the proceedings:
- After the Rangers scored four runs in the top of the first, the Reds answered back with two runs in the bottom half to trail 4-2.
- In the top of the second, the Rangers maxed out again with another four runs to widen their lead to 8-2.
- Again the Reds replied with two in the bottom half of the second to trim the margin to 8-4.
- Reds reliever Zachary (1) shut out the Rangers in the top of the third.
- In the bottom of the third, the Reds rallied for three to slice the shortfall to 8-7.
- However, the Rangers replied with four runs in the top of the fourth to stretch their lead to 12-7.
- Down by five heading into the bottom of the fourth, the Reds staged a six run rally (mostly on walks) to win the game 13-12. Zack had the game winning RBI for the Reds comeback win.
