With the completion of our last “September Madness’ tournament game tonight, the 2016 Toronto Playgrounds House League Baseball Season officially comes to a close.

If you include the sixty-six games that were played during our end of the season tournament over the past eleven days, we have played a combined grand total of 580 house league baseball games this season in our respective Tee Ball, Rookie Ball, Mosquito, Peewee and Bantam age divisions. That’s not too shabby!

It’s also been a supercalifragilisticexpialidocious year for us with regards to the growth of the House League baseball program with over 990 plus young players registered in our program.

And to cap it off, our TP House League Baseball program were the beneficiaries of a $150,000 funding grant from the Jays Care ‘Field of Dreams’ program. The money from Jays Care will help us to finance the installation of light standards at Christie Pits Diamond 3 so we can offer even more baseball opportunities to the youth in our community.

The TP House League Baseball Committee would like to thank all the parents and players who registered with our program this season. We’re glad that you came along for the ride and we sincerely hope that you had a fun and rewarding experience on the field of dreams.

Our sincerest thanks also go out to the numerous volunteers who stepped up to the plate during the 2016 season to coach, umpire, scorekeep, move equipment, distribute uniforms, barbecue, etc. The TP Baseball Program would not be the stellar jewel that it is in the community without the love and assistance of those who live within it.

The TP Baseball Website would like to thank all the coaches and parents who took the extra time to email, text, and send in pictures and reports from their games during the course of a long season. Your contribution was sincerely valued by the Committee as it allowed us to enrich the content and the overall experience of the website enormously.

As we head into the off-season, Players and Parents are advised to check back for updates concerning registration for the 2017 House League baseball season; information concerning winter tryouts for the 2017 TP Select Teams; and the date, time and place of our  2016 TP Baseball annual general meeting and awards ceremony. And possibly, a few other surprises.

‘September Madness’ is over. We hope to see you all back in 2017 for another great season of TP Baseball.
