UPDATED on March 29

Toronto Playgrounds House League Baseball will be hosting a Toronto Blue Jays Honda Instructional Clinic on Sunday, May 7 at Christie Pits (750 Bloor Street West) for all interested players aged 8* to 14.

Qualified Blue Jays instructors will be on hand to teach young players (both male and female) all the necessary and fundamental baseball skills one should know in a fun and structured atmosphere.

Each clinic will be four hours in length. During the clinic, players will rotate through drills that will deal with skills such as: hitting, throwing, fielding, pitching and baserunning. We’ll also invite coaches to come out onto the field to observe, participate and ask the Jays instructors questions.

Each registered clinic attendee should bring their glove, bat, helmet, appropriate clothing, along with a drink and snacks. We recommend that you arrive 20-30 minutes before the clinic begins in order to check in at our registration table.

The fee for the clinic is $55.00 (plus H.S.T.) per player and the instructional sessions will commence at 9:00 a.m. sharp and run until 1:00 p.m. All registered players will also receive a free Blue Jays hat, tee shirt and baseball manual for participating in the clinic.

Registrants for the clinic are advised that the Blue Jays will be processing all registrations and payments for the event.

[* Parents and Players are advised that the Blue Jays will gladly allow any players who are turning 8-years old this year to register for the clinic.]

All registered participants will receive a confirmation email after registering for the clinic. An information email about the clinic will be sent out roughly a week prior to the clinic date and will contain details about the clinic including when to arrive, what to bring and details on an alternative facility in the event of rain or unplayable field conditions. Receipts will be emailed to participants at least two weeks before the clinic date.

The Blue Jays are keenly aware of the need for local associations (like Toronto Playgrounds House League Baseball) to raise funds to offset some of the rising costs they are experiencing. Therefore, TP House League Baseball will receive $25 per participant (after the first 25 registrations) for hosting the instructional clinic.

Not only are the Instructional Clinics an excellent fundraising opportunity for local baseball associations, these clinics will also compliment the local association’s player development program. It’s a win win event for everyone involved.
