TORONTO PLAYGROUNDS BURY THE BOMBERS TO WIN THEIR EBA SELECT SEASON OPENER AT MILLWOOD PARK
Beneath a sheath of chilly willy skies, the Toronto Playgrounds Minor Peewee Selects defeated the Bloordale Gold Bombers 23-8 in five innings of Etobicoke Baseball Association (EBA) Select action this evening at Millwood Park.
Here is a brief summary of the proceedings courtesy of Marco Bianchi:
-
It was a cold one as TP prevailed over Bloordale Gold 23-8 in five frames.
-
The majority of the TP runs were pushed across in respective six run explosions in the second, fourth and fifth innings.
-
Solly delivered two doubles.
-
Oliver, Charlie and Brayden contributed individual doubles as well.
-
Ezra reached base and scored all four times.
-
TP pitchers Kieran, Liam and Charlie combined to limit the Bombers to one run over the first three innings.
-
The TP defensive play of the game belonged to Brayden and Charlie, who made an out at home after a Bloordale base runner tried stealing.
The TP Minor Peewee Selects (1-0) continue their EBA Select road swing next week when they travel to the Queensway to battle the Royal York Cardinals at 6:15 p.m.
