TORONTO PLAYGROUNDS PREVAIL OVER THE A’s IN A TIGHT AS A DRUM GAME AT RAVINA GARDENS TO EARN THEIR FOURTH EBA SELECT VICTORY OF THE SEASON
Under a blanket of tranquil skies, the Toronto Playgrounds Major Peewee Selects defeated the Annette A’s 8-6 in six innings of Etobicoke Baseball Association (EBA) Select action this evening at Ravina Gardens:
Here is a brief capsule of the proceedings courtesy of Paul Kelly and Jeff Kolyn:
- TP starter Nick (10) and reliever Max (20) combined to pitch six strong innings against the potent Annette batting order.
- Nick pitched the first three frames and limited the A’s to four runs.
- Max allowed only two runs during his three inning stint on the hill and was cool as a cucumber in the bottom of the sixth when he closed out the victory with the A’s potential winning run at the plate.
- With the A’s potential tying runs on third and second, TP centre fielder Josh (37) made a great running catch on a long fly ball in the sixth to chalk up the final out of the game.
- Taio (1) delivered a grace under pressure two RBI triple in the third inning.
- Taio sparked the TP attack with two triples.
- The TP offence exploded for four runs in the top of the fifth.
- Jamie (52) stroked three hits against the Annette bullpen.
