TORONTO PLAYGROUNDS SET TO BATTLE THE IVY RANGERS IN A SEMI-FINAL SHOWDOWN AT THE MCCULLEY DIAMOND COMPLEX IN HUNTSVILLE

The Toronto Playgrounds Minor Peewee Selects have advanced to the semi-final round of the Muskoka Cup in Huntsville, Ontario.

TP finished the round robin phase of the Canada Day weekend tourney with a 2-1 record. As a result, TP finished first in its tournament pool (Pool B) and fourth overall in the standings amongst the twelve teams participating in the tourney.

The TP Minor Peewee Selects will face the Ivy Rangers (2-0-1) in a semi-final game slated for tomorrow (July 2) morning at 9:00 a.m. The winner will advance to the championship game showdown against the winner of the Orangeville Bengals (3-0-0) and North Bay Stingers (2-0-1) semi-final.

On Friday evening, TP began the tournament at the McCulley Robertson Diamond Complex with a 10-9 victory over the Midland Twins.

TP edged the Muskoka Hornets 8-7 in their second round robin game late this morning.

The Midland Mets defeated TP 8-4 in their third round robin game late this afternoon.
