TORONTO PLAYGROUNDS EDGE HALTON HILLS 1-0 IN A NAIL BITING SEVEN INNING CHAMPIONSHIP GAME AT EMSLIE FIELD
Beneath a blanket of picturesque summer skies, the Toronto Playgrounds Minor Midget A Rep Team edged Halton Hills 1-0 in a thrilling seven inning championship game this afternoon at Emslie Field to win the 2017 edition of the St. Thomas Cardinals Minor Midget Tournament.

- The 2001 TP Minor Midget A Team won the St. Thomas Cardinals tourney over the weekend
- TP played five games over three days to emerge as the champions.
- After losing 7-3 in their first game against Halton Hills on Friday night, TP rebounded yesterday with a convincing 15-0 win against Kitchener and a 9-7 victory versus Pickering to advance to the semi-final round.
- In a semi-final humdinger this morning, the TP Minor Midget A Rep Team edged Bloordale 5-4 to earn the privilege of facing an undefeated Halton Hills team in the championship final.
- On a beautiful Sunday afternoon, TP edged Halton Hills 1-0 in seven innings to win the St. Thomas Tournament Championship Game and cap off an exciting weekend.
