THE DARLIN’ CUBBIES PREVAIL OVER THE BIG RED MACHINE AT BICKFORD PARK
Beneath a tranquil ceiling of warm midsummer skies, the Cubs edged the Reds 7-6 in four innings of Peewee Division action this evening at the Bickford Park South Diamond.
Here is a Cubs recap of the proceedings courtesy of Kevin Lawrie:
- The Cubs had a full squad of twelve players compared to only seven for the Reds (one of whom left halfway through the game).
- In the House League tradition, the Cubs loaned the Reds some outfielders for the duration of the game.
- Ezra (15) led the team with two doubles and three stolen bases
- Jashan (12) was walked in the bottom of the fourth with the bases loaded for the walkoff win.
- It was an odd sort game [with the Reds basically having only six roster players] and as such, their batting order turned over quickly.
