An Important Message to our TP Houseleague Baseball Families:
We wish to share with you the great news that the “Lights On 3” campaign has been successful!! Toronto City Council, at its meeting earlier this month, approved the installation of lights on Christie Pits Diamond 3!
Before sharing the details, and on behalf of the TP Baseball Committee, I would really like to say a huge TP THANK YOU to everyone in our “baseball family” for all of the support (financial and otherwise) that we received from you over this past season. This fantastic enhancement of the baseball environment at Christie Pits has been many years in the making, and it wouldn’t have happened without the tremendous support of you, the Toronto Playgrounds Baseball Community.
The initial stages of the work will be starting over the next few weeks….we’ll share specific details as we receive them. There will be some digging and trenching taking place on Christie Pits Diamond 3 between now and the end of 2017. The actual installation of the light poles is slated for January, when the ground will be good and solid from the frost. Work will continue through the winter and early spring, and the project is scheduled to be completed in late April 2018, in time for the opening of next year’s 2018 outdoor season!
We will have more to share throughout the offseason and at our Annual General Meeting. The Committee will keep everyone posted on project details as they become available.
