Toronto Playgrounds House League Baseball wishes to extend a heartfelt invitation to everyone in its baseball loving community to attend our Jays Care Foundation Lights On Christie Pits Diamond 3 Ribbon Cutting Ceremony on Saturday, May 12 at Christie Pits.
This celebratory occasion is scheduled to take place at Diamond 3, approximately from 2:30 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., prior to the start of the TP Baseball hosted 2018 Blue Jays Honda Instructional Clinic. (Jays Care is currently finalizing the itinerary for the Saturday event and we’ll post the detailed information as soon as it becomes available.)
A special sign will be unveiled at the Jays Care Foundation Lights On Christie Pits Diamond 3 Ribbon Cutting Ceremony to commemorate the successful efforts to install lights at Christie Pits Diamond 3.
Dignitaries, officials and stakeholders from the Jays Care Foundation, City of Toronto and TP Baseball will be on hand for the special ribbon cutting event. In addition, a special sign will also be unveiled on the backstop of Diamond 3 to commemorate the special occasion.
The efforts to install lights at Christie Pits Diamond 3 has taken a long and winding road journey to reach fruition. Through a very generous $150,000 contribution from the Jays Care Foundation, financial assistance from the City of Toronto, and kind donations from members of our TP Baseball Family, we’ve finally achieved our Lights On 3 mission. As such, the installation of light fixtures at Diamond 3 will add hundreds more playing hours for our teams at Christie Pits. With registrations in our House League baseball program at an all time high, the lights on Diamond 3 will create additional playing time that will allow more kids in our community to keep playing the beautiful game of baseball.
