Beneath a blanket of tranquil blue skies, the Toronto Playgrounds Peewee A Rep Team defeated the Kawartha Cubs 22-12 this afternoon at Vaughan Grove Diamond 4 to win the Vaughan Vikings Peewee Rep Tournament.

Earlier in the day, TP edged Thornhill 8-7 in a nail biting semi-final game to advance to the championship round.

Toronto Playgrounds advanced to the Vaughan tourney playoff round after finishing the round robin phase of the tournament with a 1-0-2 record. 

On Friday evening, TP opened the round robin portion of the tourney with a 10-10 tie against Brampton. Early on Saturday morning, TP defeated North York 9-6 to win their first game at the tournament. TP followed that up with a 7-7 tie versus Vaughan to complete the round robin phase.

Later on Saturday afternoon, TP clipped Bloordale 15-14 in a thrilling quarter-final  to advance to a semi-final showdown against Thornhill on Sunday.

The TP Baseball Committee wishes to congratulate and thank TP Peewee A Rep Head Coach Marco Bianchi; Assistant Coaches Mark Higgins and Adin Wener for their fortitude and patience in steering these talented Peewee A Reps to the championship prize at the Vaughan Tournament

The Committee also wishes to commend all the Peewee A Rep players, coaches and parents for representing the core values of the Toronto Playgrounds Baseball program with honour, dignity and professionalism on and off the diamond at the tournament and throughout the 2018 season.
