MOSQUITO > Lizzies Edge White Sox 7-6

WITH TWO OUTS AND THE GAME DEADLOCKED 6-6, THE GRITTY LIZZIES STEAL HOME IN THE BOTTOM OF THE FIFTH INNING TO PREVAIL OVER THE PESKY WHITE SOX IN A NAIL BITING MOSQUITO DIVISION ELIMINATION ROUND PLAYOFF GAME AT CHRISTIE PITS

Beneath a serene duvet of warm September skies, the Lizzies edged the White Sox 7-6 in a thrilling five inning Toronto Playgrounds House League Baseball Mosquito Division elimination round playoff game this evening at Christie Pits Diamond 2.

Down 6-1, the pesky White Sox stormed back with five dramatic runs in the top half of the fifth to deadlock the proceeding 6-6. Finn (9), Gavin (6), Evan (3), Rafaele (8) and Milo (4) came homeward to do the shimmy, shimmy, shake.

With two outs and runners at third and second, Lizzies baserunner Willy (14) seized the moment and brazenly stole home to give the Lizzies the 7-6 victory.

The Lizzies will now advance into the Mosquito Division Semi-Final elimination round, where they’ll face the Rays on Wednesday (September 12) evening at Christie Pits Diamond 3 at 6:00 p.m.
