REGISTRATIONS ARE BEING ACCEPTED FOR THE AUTUMN EDITION OF OUR INDOOR BASEBALL SKILLS AND DRILLS CLASSES AT GIVINS-SHAW PUBLIC SCHOOL FOR INTERESTED PARTICIPANTS AGED 7 TO 12

The Toronto Playgrounds Baseball Committee is now accepting registrations for the Fall 2018 edition of its Houseleague Baseball Academy.

The Toronto Playgrounds Houseleague Baseball Academy features ninety-minute long weekly indoor skills and drills classes that take place in a gym. Each week’s class will focus on specific baseball skill or theme. Participants will be able to enjoy even more baseball while enhancing their skills and building increased self-confidence in their baseball abilities.

There are classes for ages 7 to 9 years and for ages 10 to 12 years.

Anyone 13 or 14 years of age who would like to be involved with the Baseball Academy as volunteer assistant instructors with the younger participants should contact us. We will be looking for people to take on this role.

Location:

  • Givins-Shaw Public School double gym at 49 Givins Street [1 block east of Ossington Avenue, 3 blocks south of Dundas Street/2 blocks north of Queen Street.]

Days:

  • Mondays and Thursdays (participants sign up for one day or the other).

Times:

  • 6:15 p.m. to 7:45 p.m. (for 7 to 9 years olds)
  • 7:45 p.m. to 9:15 p.m. (for 10 to 12 year olds).

Format:

  • 6 weeks of 90 minute classes for each group.

Registration fee:

  • $ 90.00/six-week session.

All participants will receive a TP Houseleague Baseball Academy tee-shirt as part of the fee.

Schedule:

  • Session 1 > Monday sessions: November 5; 12; 19; 26; December 3 and 10
  • Session 2 > Thursday sessions: November 8; 15; 22; 29; December 6 and 13

There are Winter and Spring sessions of the TP Baseball Academy being planned, but at this point we’re only opening registration for the Fall sessions. Based upon the number of you who have been asking me about both of these programs over the last few months I think that they will be very popular….however, we need to be sure that there is sufficient interest in the classes to proceed. So if you’re interested please register as soon as possible….we’ll be making a determination by October 19th as to whether we have sufficient numbers to proceed with the Fall sessions.

To Register:

Registration for the Baseball Academy can be done either online or by paper form. The online option will obviously be faster. The link to the online registration form can be found at the bottom of this page. If you would like a physical registration form sent, please contact us by email at tpbaseball@gmail.com.

If you are registering online and you already have a Goalline account (from registering in our house league for instance), then answer “yes” to the returning player question. You will then
enter the player’s access code and birthdate and you will be taken straight to the form. The access code was sent to you from Goalline after your first online registration, so you can look
back at that email to retrieve your code.

If you do not already have a Goalline account then answer “no” to the returning player question and fill in the required information…you will then be able to complete the form.

If you have any questions, please contact us at tpbaseball@gmail.com.
