Beneath a ceiling of genteel summer skies, the Toronto Playgrounds Major Peewee Selects defeated the Weston Wolverines 17-3 in a four inning round robin playoff game this morning at Connorvale Park to capture its first victory at the 2019 Etobicoke Baseball Association (EBA) Peewee Select Championship Tournament.

TP began its journey at the tourney last night with an 8-1 four inning loss to the Royal York Girls at Westway Park.

Because of the tournament’s double knockout formula, whereby a team is eliminated from further playoff play after two losses, Toronto Playgrounds was placed in a do or die situation to stay alive at the tourney.

In a must win game, TP tamed the Wolverines with authority to continue their end of season playoff dreams.

The TP Major Peewee Selects (1-1) journey at the EBA playoffs continues at 1:15 p.m. this afternoon with a battle versus the Bloordale Bombers at Millwood Park.
