Under a ceiling of humid and hazy summer skies, the Toronto Playgrounds Major Mosquito Selects defeated the Annette Red 15-3 in a 3 ½ inning semi-final elimination playoff game this afternoon at Ravina Gardens to advance to the championship round of the 2019 Etobicoke Baseball Association (EBA) Mosquito Select Championship Tournament.
Here is a brief recap:
- TP exploded for ten runs in the bottom portion of the first inning and never had to look back in the rear view mirror as they cruised to a semi-final triumph over Annette Red.
- Milo (27) went 3 for 3 at the dish to power the TP offence with two runs scored and three RBI’s against the Red.
- TP starter Rocco (99) threw three scoreless innings against Annette. Rocco allowed only a pair of hits while striking out three A’s to earn the win.
- TP relievers Julian (20) and Cooper (3) combined to wrap things up in the fourth frame.
The TP Major Mosquito Selects (5-0) will face the Annette Black (4-1) in the 2019 EBA Mosquito Select Tournament Championship Round later this afternoon.
