UPDATE > All 2020 TP Select Tryouts & Workouts on October 3 are Cancelled

FOR THE SECOND CONSECUTIVE DAY, THE CITY OF TORONTO PARKS SUPERVISOR HAS CLOSED ALL THREE BASEBALL DIAMONDS AT CHRISTIE PITS DUE TO WET FIELD CONDITIONS AND CONTINUING RAIN

The Toronto Playgrounds Baseball Committee has announced that all Select team tryouts and workouts scheduled for Thursday, October 3 have been cancelled due to extreme wet field conditions and continuing rain at Christie Pits.

Given how wet the infields and outfields already are, as well as the fact that it continues to rain, the City of Toronto Parks Supervisor has decided to close the sports fields for today, including all three baseball diamonds at Christie Pits.

As such, the inclement weather on Thursday has scuttled the following outdoor Select sessions at Christie Pits:

  • The 5:30 p.m. TP 8U Minor Rookie Ball Select (players born in 2012) workout session at Christie Pits Diamond 3.
  • The 6:00 p.m. TP 10U Minor Mosquito Select (players born in 2010) workout session at Christie Pits Diamond 2.
  • The 6:00 p.m. TP 16U/17U/18U Varsity Select (players born in 2002/2003/2004) tryout session at Dominico Field at Christie Pits a.k.a. Diamond 1.
  • The 6:30 p.m. TP 9U Minor Rookie Ball Select (players born in 2011) workout session at Christie Pits Diamond 3.

Updated information regarding the rescheduling of the cancelled 2010, 2011 & 2012 workout sessions will be posted as soon as details have been finalized. Please check back for updates.
