In a project that took two years to reach fruition, Irv Kochman and Chuck Kochman unveiled their “Great Moments In Blue Jays History Travelling Art Show” this week in the vibrant seventh floor atrium of the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre.

Irv and Chuck are the professional photographers who have been taking the individual and team photos of the Toronto Playgrounds House League Baseball program for the past two decades. However, for those in the know around Christie Pits, Irv and Chuck were also the official team photographers of the Major League Baseball (MLB) Toronto Blue Jays Baseball Club for thirty-three years from 1985 to 2017.

In a three day exhibition held this week, Irv and Chuck displayed over 100 of their elegant photos (and a variety of special mementos) that captured the glorious moments of the Blue Jays rise from an expansion team to being a perennial contender in the American League, and their penultimate success as back to back World Series Champions in 1992 and 1993.

The exhibition by Irv and Chuck was a special fundraising project for the benefit of the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre Foundation.

TP Baseball Coordinator Steve Smith, TP Field Supervisor Sadie Whitfield-Smith and TP Baseball Committee Member Paul Hum were on hand at the event on Friday afternoon in a show of support and respect for all of Irv and Chuck’s amazing work for community baseball through the many years at Christie Pits.
