AFTER CAPTURING THE EBA TITLE WITH AN UNBLEMISHED 5-0 RECORD, THE TP 13U RED ARE ALSO REWARDED WITH A TRIP TO THE 2022 BASEBALL ONTARIO 13U SELECT PROVINCIAL CHAMPIONSHIP PLAYOFFS.

Beneath a warm blanket of succulent summer skies, the Toronto Playgrounds 13U Red Selects prevailed 27-16 over the Bloordale Bombers in a six inning final round game this afternoon at Carmen Bush Park Diamond 1 to win the 2022 Etobicoke Baseball Association (EBA) 13U Select Championship Tournament Game.
Down16-3 after 2½ innings of play, TP 13U Red refused to surrender as they rallied back with twenty-four unanswered runs over the latter four frames to usurp the Bombers in dramatic fashion to take home the championship prize.
After digging themselves a thirteen run hole, TP tightened their defence and pitching with Saran Wrap precision, and had key offensive contributions from everyone in the batting order as they staged their miracle comeback to take the championship.
Finishing the tourney with a stellar 5-0 record, TP swept away their competition this weekend to take the EBA championship prize. As their reward, Toronto Playgrounds 13U Red advances to the Baseball Ontario 13U Select Provincial Championship Playoffs on the Labour Day weekend in Clinton.
Toronto Playgrounds began their journey at the tourney on Friday morning with a take no prisoners 8-2 win over the York Riverdogs at Carmen Bush Diamond 1 to earn their first round robin victory.
With the summer wind in their sails, TP defeated the Martingrove White Sox 7-0 on Friday afternoon to secure their second round robin game win.
Firing on all cylinders, Toronto Playgrounds defeated the Bloordale Bombers 16-4 in their third round robin game on Saturday evening to punch their ticket into the EBA 13U Select tourney’s playoff elimination round.
And in a slender tenderloin nail biter this morning, TP edged the Annette Red A’s 10-9 in a thrilling semi-final elimination game to advance into the championship round versus Bloordale.
The TP 13U Red Selects finished the 2022 EBA regular season campaign with a not too shabby 11-6-1 overall record.
Away from the EBA circuit, the 13U Red also had a fun and enriching experience participating at three tournaments during the 2022 season. With a 3-1-1 record, the TP 13U Red were the finalists at the Brampton Minor Baseball (BMBI) Tournament back in May. TP 13U Red also had a great time at the Bradford Tournament in June and the Mississauga Tournament in July.
