THE WOLVES PREVAIL OVER THE BUCKEYES TO TAKE HOME THE CHAMPIONSHIP PRIZE AT DOMINICO FIELD AT CHRISTIE PITS
Beneath the howling gaze of a warm full moon night, the Wolves prevailed 10-6 over the Buckeyes in a six inning battle tonight at Dominico Field at Christie Pits to win the 2024 Toronto Playgrounds Baseball Association (TPBA) 15U Bantam Division House League Tournament Championship Game.
With Duran Duran aplomb, the Wolves staked themselves to an early 4-0 lead in the top portion of the first inning.
After stroking a leadoff single, Nathan (16) made like Bennie and the Jets as he brazenly swiped his way around the horn into scoring position at third base.
Pouncing on a wild pitch by the Buckeyes, Nathan hustled home with a debonair slide at the dish to score the opening run of the proceedings.
Following a walk by Sammy (8), Benji (5) garnered a walk that put two Wolves on the dancefloor.
With runners on third and second, the Buckeyes uncorked a wild pitch that allowed Benji to move over to third and brought Sammy home with a Wolves run.
After Benjamin (9) reached base on a dropped third strike that put two ducks on the pond, Benji made the bold as brass decision with one out to steal home on a pitch in the dirt. As Benji charged homeward, Buckeyes catcher Sol (8) retrieved the ball and tagged out Benji on a chitty chitty bang bang play at the plate.
With two outs and a runner on third, Kian (2) delivered a clutch RBI single that allowed Benjamin to come home with a Wolves run.
In lickety-split fashion, Alex (10) followed with a RBI single that allowed Kian to motor home with another Wolves run.
With spunk, Buckeyes starter Spencer (6) struck out a Wolves batter in the top of the first frame.
