It goes without saying that Jack Dominico, the owner of the Intercounty Toronto Maple Leafs Baseball Club, has been one of the most avid supporters of Toronto Playgrounds Baseball through the years.

Dominico is passionate in his support of youth baseball in the community surrounding Christie Pits. He has held numerous  weekend baseball clinics for the players in our TP Baseball program where young players can learn skills from players on his Toronto Maple Leafs team.

His love of the game and the neighbourhood that encompasses it have been one of the facets that have made TP Baseball the jewel that it is.

The TP Baseball Committee would like to announce to all the players and parents involved in our program that Jack Dominico will be holding his annual Toronto Maple Leafs Forum and Reception on Saturday, April 30 at 6 p.m. at the Airport Westin Hotel (950 Dixon Road). The forum is held the night before the Leafs open their 43rd season at Christie Pits on May 1.

The Forum is a great opportunity to hear all about the unique experiences had by some of the greatest players to ever play the game.

This year’s baseball greats in attendance will be 1971 Cy Young Award winner with the Chicago Cubs, Ferguson Jenkins; two-time World Series champion as coach of the Oakland Athletics, Dick Williams; and eight time all-star and Gold Glove winner with the Minnesota Twins, Tony Oliva.

Also making their first appearance at the Forum this year will be World Series champion as a member of the Baltimore Orioles and possibly one of the best switch hitters in the history of the game, Eddie Murray;  perfect game pitcher turned politician, Jim Bunning; and hitter extraordinaire, Rod Carew of the Twins.
