BANTAM > Day 6: White Sox ‘Threepeat’ As Bantam Division Champions!!!
IN A TENSE THRILLER, THE WHITE SOX HANG ON TO EDGE THE EXPOS 7-6
It was an edge of your seat thriller of a Bantam Championship Game as the White Sox hung on to edge the Expos 7-6 to 'threepeat' as TP Bantam Division Champions.
Using an elixir of strong pitching and opportune offence, the White Sox had constructed a 7-3 lead through five innings of play.
However, a tenacious Expos team refused to wave the white flag of surrender and gamely staged a three run rally in the top of the sixth to cut the deficit to one.
With Expos baserunners at second and first and hanging onto a slim 7-6 lead, Adrian (15) of the White Sox closed out the game by striking out the last Expos batter.
Both Bantam finalists took tough roads to advance to the championship round. The Expos edged the Lizzies 15-14 on Saturday night. Meanwhile, the White Sox edged the A's 3-2 in a thriller on Sunday morning to reach the final.
Congratulations to White Sox Coach Head Coach Alex Beauvais and Assistant Coach Chris Novielli for leading their respective team to a third straight Bantam Division Championship in a row.

MIDGET > Day 6: Midget Division Championship Game Rescheduled
THE MONARCHS & HOMESTEADS FINAL HAS BEEN RESCHEDULED TO SEPTEMBER 17
The Toronto Playgrounds Baseball Committee has announced that the Midget Division Championship Game between the Monarchs and Homesteads has been rescheduled to Saturday, September 17 at 12:00 noon at Diamond #1.
The Monarchs advanced to the final with a 10-2 victory over the Crawfords today. The Homesteads defeated the Lizzies 10-5 to reach the championship game.
MOSQUITO > Day 6: Cardinals & Pirates Advance To Semi-Final Round
IN THE QUARTER-FINALS, CARDS EDGE LIZZIES 9-8 IN EXTRA INNINGS AND PIRATES DEFEAT GIANTS 8-4
K-K-K > Bennett (14) of the Cardinals struck out the Lizzies 1-2-3 in the extra sixth inning to lead his team into the Mosquito Division Semi-Finals.
In a pair of Mosquito Division Quarter-Final games this evening at Christie Pits, the Cardinals and Pirates emerged victorious to advance to the semi-final round.
In a thriller on Diamond # 2, the Cardinals (3) edged the Lizzies (6) 9-8 in extra innings.
With the Lizzies leading 8-6 after 4 ½ innings, the Cardinals staged a dramatic rally in the bottom of the fifth to score two runs to tie the game and force an extra inning. With two baserunners on, Lukas (8) delivered a clutch hit to bring in the runs which tied the game.
In the top of the sixth, Bennett (14) of the Cardinals mowed down the Lizzies by striking them out 1-2-3. His stellar pitching effort kept the game tied and gave his team an opportunity to win the game.
Using a disciplined approach at the plate in the bottom half of the sixth, the Cards proceeded to load the bases. Eventually, Connor (15) drew a walk which brought home Cormac (10) from third with the winning run.
Meanwhile, the swashbuckling Pirates (4) defeated the Giants (5) 8-4 on Diamond # 3 to win their quarter-final game.
After the final Mosquito Division round robin game was completed, it was determined that the Cubs (1) and Dodgers (2) had finished on top of the standings and had earned a bye into the semi-final round

In a pair of Peewee Division Quarter-Final games played at Diamond # 2 today, the Yankees and Jays emerged victorious to advance to the semi-final round.
The Yankees (3) defeated the Lizzies (6) 14-6 in six innings. Meanwhile, the Jays (4) edged the Red Sox (5) 10-9 in six.

The 2011 edition of the Toronto Playgrounds House League Baseball Tournament continues today with 14 scheduled games.
The annual tournament to wrap up the season is baseball lover's delight with a cornucopia of games from four age divisions being played over four diamonds at Christie Pits and Bickford Park.
You can keep track of all the scores, standings and game accounts every evening of the tournament via the website and Twitter.

The Expos await the winner of the other Bantam semi-final game between the White Sox (1) and the A's (4) which will be played on Sunday morning at 10 a.m. at Dominico Field (a.k.a. Diamond # 1).

THE ROYALS (1) & ORIOLES (2) EARN A BYE INTO THE PEEWEE SEMI-FINALS
With the completion of the Peewee Division round robin phase tonight, the seedings have now been finalized for the playoff rounds of the tournament.
When the dust had finally settled, it was determined that the Royals and Orioles had finished on top of the round robin standings and will receive byes into the Peewee semi-finals.
The Royals (1) will play their semi-final game on Monday, September 12 and the Orioles (2) will play their semi final game on Tuesday, September 13. Both Peewee semi-finals will be played at Diamond # 2 at 7:45 p.m.
The Royals and Orioles await the winners of the Peewee Quarter-Finals.
