Sarah (2) of the Lizzies pitched a stellar 1-2-3 third inning versus the Yankees.

With the dog days of summer upon us, life in the Peewee Division returned to normal today with the reopening of Diamond # 3 at Christie Pits.

In a seesaw battle on Diamond # 2, the Yankees edged the Lizzies 7-5 in four innings of play.

Both teams displayed great pitching. The Yankees pitching staff was anchored by strong efforts from Wyatt (11) [2 IP, 3 K’s and no runs allowed] and Morgan (9) [1 IP, 1 K and 1 R]. Likewise, the Lizzies pitching crew was highlighted by stellar work from Sammy (12) [1 IP, 2 K’s and 2 R] , Naiemul (14) [1 IP, 1 K and 1 R] and Sarah (2) who pitched a 1-2-3 third inning [1 IP, 1 K and 0 R].

In a tightly pitched game by both squads, the Yankees and Lizzies had to make the most of their offensive opportunities. In the end, the Yankees prevailed in the offensive ledger.

The Jays prevailed over the Red Sox 9-3 on Diamond #3 in four innings of play.

The Jays made the most of their offensive opportunities and their effective pitching brigade stymied the Red Sox batters.

Our TP Cub Reporter twittered that the highlight of the game was the solo home run by Kane (1) of the Jays. His round tripper brought the fans and his teammates to their feet in celebration.
