TP SELECT: Mosquito Selects Edge Bloordale 12-11


IN A”FRIENDLY”, THE MOSQUITO SQUAD HANG ON FOR THE VICTORY

Simon (7) of the Mosquito Selects went 2 for 2 in three trips to the dish with a triple and a walk. Simon also pitched a scoreless inning.

In a “friendly” match at Christie Pits Diamond # 3, the TP Mosquito Select Team hung on to edge Bloordale 12-11.

The Mosquito Selects were sparked in the bottom of the first inning by a leadoff triple from Simon (7) who also singled and walked during the game and scored three times. Additionally, Simon also pitched a scoreless inning.

Marcus (11) slugged an amazing ground rule double.

One of the highlights of the evening was a ground rule double by Marcus (11) which reached the Intercounty Toronto Maple Leafs clubhouse in right centrefield on a bounce.

After Bloordale had loaded the bases in the final inning, Campbell (10) was brought back into the game to preserve the slim lead that the Mosquito Selects held. Using guile and grit, he perservered and picked up the save.

The Mosquito Selects (2-1) play their next game on Sunday, June 12 at 6:30 p.m. as they host Annette at Christie Pits Diamond # 3.
