MOSQUITO THURSDAYS: Cubs Claw Dodgers 7-1

CUBBIES OFFENCE AND PITCHING FIRING ON ALL CYLINDERS IN VICTORY

PERFECT! John Eric (4) of the Cubs had a superlative two inning pitching effort in earning the win by striking out all six Dodgers that he faced (2 IP; 0 ER; 0 H; 0 BB; 6 K).

The Cubs clawed the Dodgers 7-1 in 3 ½ innings of Mosquito Division play at Bickford South this evening.

Using a disciplined approach at the plate, the Cubbies made the most of their offensive opportunities in constructing a 7-0 lead through the first two innings.

John (10) of the Cubs delivered three clutch RBI's in a 2 for 3 performance (triple and single) at the dish.

The Cubs took advantage of the Dodgers pitching crew and drew eleven walks. The offence was punctated by a 2 for 3 (triple and single) performance by John (10) of the Cubs who also scored twice and delivered three runs batted in.

Meanwhile, a trio of Cubs pitchers (John Eric (4); Arlo (3) and Zachary (12)) combined to neutralize a potent Dodgers batting order by allowing only one run over four innings while allowing no hits; walking only one; hitting three batters and striking out eleven Dodgers.

The Cubs pitching brigade was anchored by another stellar performance from John Eric who pitched two innnings and struck out all six Dodgers that he faced (2 IP; 0 ER; 0 H; 0 BB; 6 K).

Kudos to Tyler (4) of the Dodgers who pitched a scoreless third inning by striking out three Cubs (1IP; 0 ER; 1 H; O BB; 3 K).

And another kudos to Zachary (12) of the Cubs for initiating a highlight reel 6-3 putout in the second inning. Playing at shortstop, Zachary cleanly fielded a hard hit ball off the bat of Griff (11) of the Dodgers and threw a laser strike to first baseman John Eric to take away a sure hit.
