BUCS AND CARDS BATTLE TO A DRAW IN ROUND ROBIN SHOWDOWN
Max (10) of the Pirates pitched a scoreless second inning (1 IP; 0 ER; 2 H; 0 W; 1 K) and went 2 for 3 at the plate (3 AB; 2 H; 1 RBI; 0 W; 0 K).
In a low scoring Mosquito Division round robin game on Diamond # 3 this evening, the Pirates and Cardinals played to a 6-6 draw in four innings of play.
Marcus' (14) sacrifice hit in the fourth brought in the Pirates tying run.
With the Cardinals leading 6-4 after 3 ½ innings, the swashbucklin’ Pirates rallied for two runs in the bottom of the fourth to tie the game.
Nikolai (11) walked and Declan (6) singled to lead off the inning. Eventually, Nikolai came around to score and trim the deficit to one. With one out, Marcus (14) delivered a sacrifice hit which brought Declan home with the tying run.
Kudos to Max (10) of the Pirates who not only pitched a scoreless second inning but also went 2 for 3 at the dish with a run batted in. And another kudos to Marcus of the Pirates who went 2 for 3 at the plate with a run scored.
