Underneath hazy and humid skies at the Ted Reeve Northeast Diamond this afternoon, the Toronto Playgrounds Peewee Select team shutout East York 13-0 to finish the round robin undefeated, and advance as the top seed in Group A to Sunday morning’s semi-final round of the East Toronto Friendship Tournament.
The Peewee Selects were firing on all cylinders and were full measure for the dominating victory. Once again, every player made a significant contribution to the proceedings.
John (33) was named the Peewee Selects Most Valuable Player in the game against East York.
In the early morning game, Toronto Playgrounds defeated East Toronto 10-2 at the Ted Reeve Northeast Diamond. David (13) was named the Peewee Selects Game MVP.
TP defeated North Toronto 9-2 in 5 ½ innings on Friday evening
The Peewee Selects will play Leaside (Group B second seed) on Sunday morning in a 10 a.m. semi-final game at the Ted Reeve Northeast Diamond.
