THE BATTING CLINICS ARE PART OF THE TP BASEBALL SEASON OPENING WEEKEND EVENT CELEBRATIONS COMMEMORATING THE CENTENNIAL YEAR OF AMATEUR BASEBALL IN TORONTO
The TP Baseball Committee has scheduled a series of Rookie Ball House League Batting Practice sessions for the next two Saturdays.
This Saturday, May 25, the Rookie Ball batting practice will be available to the teams in the Wednesday division, and the schedule is as follows:
10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.: Cheetahs and Leopards (Christie Pits Diamond 3)
12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m.: Cougars and Tigers (Christie Pits Diamond 3)
Players from these teams can arrive anytime from the start time of their session until 10 minutes prior to the end. Each player will be given the chance to face 10 to 12 pitches so that they can get used to facing the new JUGS machine (a.k.a. “Fergie”). Prior to facing the machine, players will have a chance to warm up with some wifffle balls so as to make the most of their pitches. Coaches, if you’re available Saturday it would be great to have you there during your team’s time…if you can’t be there don’t worry, we’ll be doing this again in a few weeks.
There is a break between the two sessions because of the special Opening Weekend events taking place on Dominico Field (a.k.a. Diamond 1) at 11 a.m.
The Rookie Ball teams in our Monday division will have an opportunity for their batting practice on Saturday, June 1 and the schedule will be sent out early next week.
