PARENTS & PLAYERS ARE ADVISED TO TAKE NOTE OF SOME MINOR MODIFICATIONS TO THE SCHEDULE FOR OUR ROOKIE BALL CELEBRATION DAY EVENT ON SATURDAY, AUGUST 24

Pictures from the 2013 Toronto Playgrounds Baseabll Rookie Ball Season.

Celebration Day for the players in our Rookie Ball Division is coming up fast.

A special day where all eight of our Rookie Ball teams play their final games of the 2013 season and celebrate a Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious spring and summer of baseball.

Due to a desire to have all of our Rookie Ball teams play their final game using our new and very wonderfully consistent JUGS pitching machine (a.k.a. “Fergie”), there have been some very slight modifications to the schedule for Saturday August 24th. We’ll be starting the day a little bit earlier but there are no really big changes.

Here is the revised schedule (ALL GAMES AT CHRISTIE PITS DIAMOND 3):

Rookie Ball Celebration Day Schedule for Saturday, August 24

Game 1                9:00 a.m.                Christie Pits # 3                    Cougars at Bobcats

Game 2               10:15 a.m.               Christie Pits # 3                    Jaguars at Leopards

Game 3               11:30 p.m.               Christie Pits # 3                    Panthers at Cheetahs

Game 4               12:45 p.m.               Christie Pits # 3                    Tigers at Lions

After their games, each of the players will receive their trophy, their photo (if they haven’t already gotten it), and their free lunch (brunch) from the barbecue pit area. The lunch will consist of a hot dog or veggie dog; a bag of chips; and a juice box. Each player and coach will receive a free lunch, and there will be some food and drinks for sale to parents and friends.

Here is the Rookie Ball Celebration Day Team Lunch Schedule:

  • 10:30 a.m. > Bobcats & Cougars
  • 10:45 a.m. > Cheetahs & Panthers
  • 11:45 a.m. > Jaguars and Leopards
  • 12:00 noon > Lions & Tigers
