Under the lights on a warm summer evening at Christie Pits Diamond 2, the Jays and Lizzies battled to an 8-8 tie in an entertaining four innings of Peewee Division action.

Here are the highlights:

  • The Jays clawed back from an early 7-0 deficit by scoring four runs in each of the second and third innings.
  • The potential winning runner, Cam (8), got a bunt single to lead off the fourth, and was sacrificed bunted to third by Karl (5). Unfortunately, the Jays were unable to cash in the potential winning run off of Lizzies southpaw reliever John-Eric (2), but were satisfied by the 8-8 tie.
  • Alex (9) of the Jays pitched two innings allowing only one run. Alex also contributed with two hits and an RBI.
  • Nathan (12) also went 2 for 2 with a triple and 4 RBIs.
  • It was a balanced attack with all eight of the Jays: Yuki (4), Angus (1), Jeremy (15), Beca (6), plus the previously mentioned Jays all getting at least one hit.
