Under the lights on a misty mountain hop evening at Dominico Field at Christie Pits, the Lizzies defeated the Expos 17-8 in five innings of Bantam Division round robin tournament action.
Tied 7-7 after two innings, the Lizzies bullpen [Sam (14), Reid (8) and Victor (7) combined to shut down the vaunted Expos offense the rest of the way as their own offense made the most of their opportunities in securing the victory.
The Lizzies (2-0) will host the A’s (0-0) in their next round robin game at Dominico Field on Saturday, September 7 at 1:30 p.m. The Expos (0-1) face the White Sox (0-1) in their next tournament game on Saturday, September 7 at 11:00 a.m.
