The Toronto Playgrounds Baseball Committee is continuing to accept registrations for the upcoming 2014 House League Baseball Season.

However, with only 60 days left before Opening Day, a number of our available age categories are beginning to fill up as we fast approach the beginning of the season.

As of March 18, all available roster openings in our “Tuesday” Tee Ball Division have been filled. However, we currently still have a number of Tee Ball roster openings available in our “Wednesday” and “Friday” Divisions. Parents and Players who are interested in our popular Tee Ball program are strongly advised to register as soon as possible to ensure a spot in our popular Tee Ball program for the upcoming season.

Due to the overwhelming popularity of our respective house league baseball offerings, the Committee strongly urges all interested parents and players to register early to guarantee a placement in our program.

ALL roster spots in our six age groups will be filled on a first come, first serve basis. Once all the available roster openings have been filled in a designated age category, any additional registrants will be put on a sequential waiting list in the event an opening becomes available.

If you require more information about the schedule for the upcoming season, please click on the following HOUSE LEAGUE SCHEDULES link.

Please click on the following link for more information about the JUMPSTART initiative.

There is also a change to this year’s form regarding registering in our Tee Ball and Rookie Ball Programs.

Last year after sending out the registration forms we set up two four team divisions in rookie ball, with one division playing on Mondays (and practicing every second Wednesday) and the other division playing on Wednesdays (and practicing every second Monday). We’re going to have the two divisions again this year, but we’re asking parents to indicate on the form which of the divisions they prefer. If you have a strong preference for one night but could also play the other night please rank them as 1 and 2. If you can only play one of the two nights rank that one as 1 and put an X in the other spot. If either night will work equally well for you (and it will be great to have some people in that position), please put a check mark on both days.

This year we are planning on doing the same type of arrangement in our Tee Ball program, except that there will be three four-team divisions…one playing Tuesday, one on Thursday, and one on Friday. This way Tee Ball families can also have a standard game night as is the case in our other divisions. We’re asking parents to indicate on the form which of the divisions they prefer. If you have a strong preference for one night but could also play the other nights please rank them as 1, 2 and 3. If you can only play one of the two nights rank that one as 1 and put an X in the other spots. If any of the nights will work equally well for you (and it will be great to have some people in that position), please put a check mark on all three days.

In both the Tee Ball and Rookie Ball divisions the spaces in the divisions will be assigned on a first-come first-served basis. There are obviously only a certain number of spots available in each division.

When making payment, PLEASE MAKE CHEQUES PAYABLE TO “LIZZIES BASEBALL“.

Completed registration forms with payment (either cheque or cash) can be dropped off in our secure TP Baseball Mailbox located at the Bob Abate Community and Recreation Centre (485 Montrose Avenue). The recreation centre will be open Monday to Saturday 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.; Closed on Sundays and Statutory Holidays. [Revised Winter Hours in effect until March 29.]

If you are dropping off your registration form at the Bob Abate Community and Recreation Centre, please don’t ask the City of Toronto staff at the Bob Abate CRC any questions related to our house league baseball program.
