IN A FEATHERED SHOWDOWN ON OPENING DAY AT BICKFORD PARK, THE HERONS AND PELICANS TOOK FLIGHT ON THE DIAMOND AND PLAYED TO A WELL DESERVED TIE
Under drizzly and overcast skies this evening at Bickford Park, two Tee Ball Division rivals battled in a feathered ornithological showdown on Opening Day of the 2014 Toronto Playgrounds House League Baseball Tee Ball Season.
For two flighty innings, the Herons and Pelicans squared off for bragging rights on the field of play.
Despite the light rain, the hits and runs generated by both squads were coming fast and furious throughout the entire game and brought the appreciative fans in attendance to their feet in a rapturous celebration.
And when the dust had finally settled on the basepaths, TP Umpire Sadie Whitfield-Smith announced that the Herons and Pelicans had played to a tie.
A fitting conclusion to a well played game by both teams and where a splendid time was had by all.
