FIRING ON ALL PISTONS, TORONTO PLAYGROUNDS TAMES THE WOLVERINES AS IT CRUISES TO ITS THIRD VICTORY OF THE EBA SELECT SEASON AT PELMO PARK

Under ever so quaint evening skies, our Toronto Playgrounds Major Peewee Selects defeated the Weston Wolverines 15-4 in four innings of Etobicoke Baseball Association (EBA) action at Pelmo Park.
Taking care of business from the get go, TP took no prisoners in their total team victory over the Wolverines.
In the top of the first, the Major Peewee Selects exploded out of the starting gate with an early 7-0 lead. TP received a RBI single from Sasha (28); a 3 RBI double from Arlo (7), a RBI single by Max (17); a RBI double from Troy (37) and RBI single by Adam (18) during the inning.
TP starter Tyler (42) mowed down three Wolverines in 1-2-3 order in the bottom of the first on three strikeouts.
Toronto Playgrounds added three runs in the top of the second to widen its advantage to 10-0. Keying the TP offensive thrust was a Zack’s (32) RBI single and respective RBI’s from Sasha and Arlo.
In workmanlike fashion, TP reliever Max (17) limited the Weston offense to a trio of runs in the bottom of the second.
After Weston held TP off the scoreboard in the top half of the third, the Wolverines scored a run to trim the deficit to seven. However, TP reliever Arlo subdued the Weston uprising with a one strikeout effort.
TP added five more insurance runs in the top of the fourth to salt the game away. After a Jack H. (27) double, Sasha delivered a RBI single. Subsequently, Arlo followed with a 2 RBI double and Adam contributed a 2 RBI single.
TP reliever Jack K. (13) sealed the deal in the bottom of the fourth by keeping the Wolverines off the scoreboard with a one strikeout effort.

- Arlo (7) was 2 for 3 at the dish with 2 runs scored and 5 RBI’s. Arlo also pitched a one run third inning against Weston.
- Adam (18) was 2-3 at the plate with 3 RBI’s.
- Tyler (42) pitched a 1-2-3 first inning with three strikeouts. Tyler also scored three runs.
- Jack K. (13) pitched a scoreless fourth against the Wolverines.
- Jack H. (27) was 2 for 2 at the dish with three runs scored.
- Sasha (28) scored two runs and had 2 RBI’s.
The Major Peewee Selects (3-1) return home to Christie Pits Diamond 2 on Wednesday, June 11 to host the York Blue Jays in their next EBA Select game at 7:00 pm.
